The Woodlands Rotary Needs Volunteers For 2010 Oktoberfest Sept. 24-26

The second annual Okto­berfest, set for Sept. 24-26 at Town Green Park in The Woodlands, is currently look­ing for volunteers to help with the event. Oktoberfest needs nearly 300 volunteers to help make the event a suc­cess in raising funds for stu­dent scholarships.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion ended a four-day run of live music this weekend with performances by the Houston Symphony, Clay Walker, Creed and John Mayer. The Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheater located in The Woodlands, Texas, which provides an array of performing arts and contemporary entertainment. Jones Park hosting Living History Teach Workshop

Jones Park is having a Living History Teach Workshop on Saturday, October 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Registration for this program begins on Monday, September 13.  Teachers are able to earn CPE credits for no charge at this event and learn about the lives of Civil war soldiers.

On Saturday, September 25 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., The Woodlands Mall, WE tv and Wedding Central present the 2010 WE tv Wedding Mall Tour, a one-day wedding planning event designed to help brides create a fabulous wedding at affordable prices. A highlight of the The Woodlands Mall event will be an appearance by WE tv wedding personality Mark Ingram, widely known as an expert in bridal gown trends.

Rape Aggression Defense for women subject of September Watch Talk

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (September 7, 2010) – Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian Lennon will present information on ways women can protect themselves from assault through Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) at the next Watch Talk Wednesday, scheduled for Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Township Service Center, 2201 Lake Woodlands Drive. Deputy Lennon will present information about the RAD program and how it can empower women by teaching them effective ways in which to defend themselves from an attacker.
