Wildflower Walk and Bike Tour at Jones Park

Jones Park is offering several special events for March:
Woodland Wildflower Walk
Saturday, March 28 at 10 a.m.
 
Enjoy some early springtime blooms on a tour of Jones Park’s trails. Join park volunteer and wildflower enthusiast Paul Roling for this walking tour as he discusses the native wildflowers found in the park.
 
Park After Dark
Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
 
What is making that sound in the deep, dark forest? This educational tour teaches nature enthusiasts ages ten and older that there is little to fear from forest wildlife. Join a naturalist for an evening walk to see and hear what the forest reveals after the sun goes down. Reservations are required and may be made beginning Wednesday, March 18.
 
Bicycle Nature Tour
Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m.
 
Jones Park’s trail system offers many opportunities to view the area’s abundance of wildlife. Participants ages seven and older are invited to join naturalist Anita Howlett on a leisurely two-hour bicycle tour through the park that includes brief interpretive stops in the floodplain forest. Reservations are required and may be made beginning Thursday, March 19.
 
Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center, a Harris County Precinct 4 facility under the leadership of Commissioner Jerry Eversole, is located at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble. All programs are free of charge and open to the public. Harris County Precinct 4 programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, sex, religion, national origin or physical ability.
