WISE Conference Awards Three Local Women Scholarships

The Woodlands, TX – The Wise Conference 2017 took place on Wednesday, September 27, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at Lone Star Corporate College, 5000 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77381. www.thewiseconference.com

The WISE Conference is designed to Inspire, Support, and Empower women in a fun, upbeat networking environment. It will cater to business professionals with a desire to learn more about work-life balance utilizing the skills and talents of motivational speakers and participating in educational demonstrations. Co-founders, Carol Gooch and Kiki Koymarianos started the conference in 2012.

This year’s conference was proud to offer three $1000 scholarships to local women who merited the award.  Scholarships were awarded based on the recipients’ personal vision and community service.  WISE offers scholarships to deserving women with a desire to further their careers through education, expand their business, or start a new one.

This year’s scholarships were awarded to Rita Wiltz, Karlie LeBlanc, and Cassandra Pennington. The total scholarship package was $1,755 for each winner. The Scholarship packages contained:


•          $1000 from WISE

•          One 45-minute individual coaching session – valued at $175 and an AFC Power Strategy Group professional development starter kit – valued at $50 totaling $225 From Angela F. Carter, AFC Power Strategy Group, Inc. 

•          One-year membership to (BWF) Business Women Forum valued at $95

•          One-year membership to (MCABW) Montgomery County Association of Business Women valued at $75  

•          Six-month membership to WOAMTEC (Women on a Mission to Earn Commission) valued at $165

•          One 45-minute Network Etiquette Coaching Session and the book Network Etiquette, Dazzle Don’t Frazzle, from Zircon Consulting valued at $195

Wiltz states that her “… scholarship would be used to enroll in training's that will enhance my career and to travel to a business conference.” LeBlanc will use the scholarship to support her vision. She states, “My vision is to grow my barn and continue to instill confidence in people of all ages through horsemanship. I would use the money to do some minor upgrades to the facility to make the farm a safer and happier place. Along with the few upgrades, I would like to allow some children the opportunity to ride at my facility that may not have been able to afford riding lessons.” Pennington will use this scholarship to apply to the nursing program at Lone Star College in January of 2018.This year’s conference was proud to offer three $1000 scholarships to local women who merited the award.
