Pot Peer Pressure? How about Pot BLOOD Pressure?

A study recently concluded by Georgia State University yielded a crop of surprising results when it came to smoking marijuana.

THE WOODLANDS, TX/ SPRING, TX/ CONROE, TX/ NORTH HOUSTON, TX - Dr. Winnie King - A study recently concluded by Georgia State University yielded a crop of surprising results when it came to smoking marijuana. Apparently, despite the wacky weed’s claim to soothe the nerves, smoking pot can triple your chance of dying from hypertension. That’s right: those who inhale are more than three times more likely to perish from the dangerous effects of high blood pressure.  And the risk goes up with each year that you smoke.

The researchers analyzed data from more than 1,200 marijuana users at least 20 years old who had smoked for an average of 11 years, and who had been enrolled in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.

Now, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that inhaling ANY kind of smoke can rack up health issues; there’s a clear link between cigarette smoke exposure and disease. But in light of the recent and ongoing legalization of marijuana, I want you to be aware of the potential perils of pot on your health.

Legal and moral issues aside, there are much safer and more effective ways to relax, chill, and soothe your nerves without raising your blood pressure or getting the munchies. Paradise Wellness & Medical Spa has multiple products and services to safely and effectively treat anxiety, depression, and insomnia that don’t have the side effects or other quandaries associated with pot. It would be my pleasure to discuss them with you.
