Officers Injured Responding To House Fire On Johnson Road

SHENANDOAH, TEXAS. May 12, 2017. Early this morning, two Shenandoah Police Officers responded to a house fire on Johnson Road. Once on the scene, it was determined that residents might still be in the structure. Officer C.J. Duenas and Officer Patrick Reade entered the house in an attempt to rescue anyone in the structure. During the attempt, both officers suffered smoke inhalation and Officer Read suffered a small cut on his arm. Both officers were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatments. They are doing well and in good spirits at this time. Their families are with them. We appreciate the good thoughts and prayers for the officers as they recover.
