Conroe Symphony Youth Orchestra Invites You To A Christmas Concert!

CONROE, TX The Conroe Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO) invites you to a Free CHRISTMAS CONCERT on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 5:00pm at the Conroe Symphony Centre located at 1500 N. Frazier Street in Conroe.  The CSYO concert is FREE to the public, but donations will be gladly accepted and will go towards the Educational Outreach program.

The Conroe Symphony Youth Orchestra is under the direction of Music Director Alfredo ‘Freddy’ Olivera de la Vega and assisted by Strings Instructor, Loren Zawodny.  There will be Christmas pieces that all are sure to enjoy, including traditional carols. The Intermediate/Advanced combined musicians will entertain with Jingle Bells, March from the Nutcracker, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Carol of the Bells along with other delightful pieces. The Beginner II will be entertaining with holiday classics and familiar Christmas songs. A trio will be playing O Holy Night to be enjoyed. Hope you will plan on joining the CSYO for an afternoon of Christmas music and light refreshments will be served following the concert.

The CSYO began its 2017-2018 season in September and will continue through the school year till May 2018. The Conroe Symphony Youth Orchestra meets on Sundays and offers five (5) programs: Beginner Strings I and II and Flute, Intermediate Level Orchestra and Advanced Level Orchestra. The Beginner II meets 3:30pm-4:30pm, Beginner I meets 4:30pm-5:30pm.  Flute program is geared towards young students that want to learn more about ensemble playing and meets during the scheduled youth orchestra time as needed.  The Intermediate Level Orchestra meets from 4:30pm-5:15pm and is for musicians that have had over one year of music instruction in any instrument. The Advanced Level Orchestra consists primarily of Jr High and High School musicians and meets from 5:15pm-6:15pm.  

The Conroe Symphony Youth Orchestra has an open-door policy – new students are always welcomed!  Currently, the CSYO members participate from many surrounding school districts and home-schooled.  No auditions are necessary – just bring your instrument!
