Conroe Symphony Orchestra Presents "Celebrating the Holidays" Dec. 9

CONROE, TX - The Conroe Symphony Orchestra is bringing the Christmas spirit with "Celebrating the Holidays with the Musical Styling’s of Sal Viviano"at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Conroe High School, located at 3200 W Davis Street (SH 105), in Conroe.

            The Symphony, currently in its 21st season, will be under the direction of Music Director and Conductor Dr. Don Hutson.  Following the traditional Star Spangled Banner, the evening will feature new arrangements of traditional favorites to get you in the holiday spirit.

            The Conroe Symphony Orchestra is pleased to welcome back our New York friends, Sal Viviano, performing a truly wonderful Christmas concert, accompanied Hubert “Tex” Arnold, pianist and composer.

            A Detroit native, THE NEW YORK TIMES recently called Sal Viviano “… a luxuriant Vocalist with effortless style…” Viviano began his career as a teenager opening for Comedy Greats of the last generation, in Chicago, and in Showrooms throughout the Midwest (often in Clubs he was too young to enter)… After completing his degrees (Eastern Illinois University), he taught High School, and worked and entertained at Nippersink Manor Resort (WI) in the Summers, while also earning his Union cards as an actor doing Theatre, Jingles, Voice-overs, and Commercials in Chicago.

            Last year, in addition to Concerts with over 20 US Symphony Orchestras, Viviano travelled to Sofia, the Capitol City of Bulgaria, where his popular Perfectly FRANK - A CENTURY of SINATRA Concert with The Classic FM Radio Orchestra SOLD-OUT, and was filmed and digitally recorded for broadcast by

Cantus Firmus on European Television and Radio. In December, Viviano made his first trip to Russia in a Cultural Affairs exchange at the request of The U.S. Ambassador to Moscow, John Francis Tefft. Over a 2-week itinerary, Viviano appeared in-Concert at Spaso House, the Ambassador’s grand and historic Residence in Moscow (simulcast LIVE internationally);

and then toured the Country appearing in-Concert with The Moscow City Symphony – Russian Philharmonic, The Lipetsk Philharmonic, and The Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet

Symphony; in each of their exquisite Concert Halls.

            As a proud long-time member of the legendary FRIAR'S CLUB, Viviano annually participates in many notable fund-raising events for deserving charities. He has served as ‘the opener’ for THE FRIAR’S CLUB CELEBRITY ROASTs of The Smothers Brothers, and Friar’s Club Abbot, Jerry Lewis; and joined the ‘infamous Dais’ for Celebrity Roasts of Donald Trump, Pat Cooper, Shirley Jones, Leroy Nieman, and Don King, to name a few. He's sung our National Anthem (and God Bless America) at Sports Arenas across the continent; including 33 Seasons for New York’s Mets (Shea Stadium and Citi Field).             This enchanting evening of Holiday music will include Caribbean Sleigh Ride and Little Bolero Drummer Boy. The Conroe Symphony Orchestra rounds out a wonderful evening with Brazilian Sleigh Bells along with Bassoon It Will Be Christmas. The night will be a great time for all ages, putting you in the holiday spirit!


All Conroe Symphony Orchestra concerts are held at Conroe High School, located at 3200 W. Davis Street (SH 105) in Conroe. Tickets for individual concerts are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under, with special rates available for groups of 10 or more.  Tickets may be purchased at the Conroe Symphony Centre, 1500 N Frazier #3, in Conroe (please call for hours) or may be ordered by calling the Symphony Centre at 936-760-2144/toll free 888-823-6610.  Tickets for the performances will also be available at the door prior to each concert.
